Facial rejuvenation of the forehead with a brow lift or forehead lift is facial cosmetic surgery that improves the upper 1/3 of the face.  A brow lift is performed alone or in combination with an upper blepharoplasty for complete peri-orbital facial rejuvenation to correct droopy eyebows and remove excess eyelid skin. Varying degrees of eyebrow ptosis (droopy) and forehead wrinkles can be corrected using different techniques of brow lift surgery.

A brow lift can be performed in one of several ways from a mini brow lift for minimal correction to a full coronal brow lift for maximal correction. More recently, endoscopic brow lift has become popularized due to advancements in minimally invasive endoscopic cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Michael Thornton uses traditional yet modern techniques in brow lift surgery and concealing your incisions within or behind the hairline. Most patients benefit from complete upper facial rejuvenation, whereby multiple facial plastic surgery procedures are performed simultaneously during a brow lift including an upper blepharoplasty and laser skin resurfacing.  The ultimate goal is to reposition the arch of your eyebrow to a more youthful and feminine height.

What can I expect during my consultation?

During your consultation, you will meet privately and exclusively with Dr. Michael Thornton where you will collectively share in the decision making process about your personal needs, desires, and expectations.  Although well qualified, we choose not use patient coordinators, nurse practitioners, or physicians assistants to perform your consultation.  Dr. Thornton will complete a thorough medical history and perform a careful examination of your forehead wrinkles, hairline, and extent of eyebrow ptosis or drooping to see if you are an acceptable candidate to undergo a brow lift procedure.

Where will my surgery take place?

Brow lift procedures may either be performed at Baylor Surgicare at Mansfield, a AAAHC certified out-patient surgery center, located in Mansfield, Texas or may be performed at our private operating room depending on the complexity of the case.  This determination will be made on an individual basis.
